I have always been captivated by geometric patterns. I see them everywhere I go, from tile floors, to architecture, and even in nature. The precision that is required to create a successful and intriguing pattern has always fascinated me. 

 

Geometric patterns are inherently very structured and rigid, leaving little room for error. I want my work to feel organic and alive, while simultaneously remaining precise and extremely detailed. In order to accomplish this, I begin my process for each work with no preconceived sketch or idea of what the finished piece will look like. I give up control and it becomes a very meditative and immersive experience for me.

I have an overactive brain that never wants to shut down, but when I sit down to paint, I find clarity. My hope is that others can experience that clarity while exploring the details of my work.
